Statement on the Passing of Her Majesty The Queen, Queen Elizabeth II

1926 – 2022

1926 – 2022

We remember today Her Majesty’s words upon her 21st Birthday, more than seven decades ago: “I declare before you that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service, and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.”

These words held true over the past seven decades because Her Majesty’s reign was based on magnificently strong foundations, a unique, selfless, and remarkably strong sense of duty together with internal fortitude. Her Majesty’s ladylike grace and elegance were a further source of inspiration. Queen Elizabeth II duly received great admiration and respect by all her loyal subjects. And indeed, by good people across the world.

At this very sad time, it is worth reflecting on the importance of her values of duty and service, responsibility and work ethic, duties she continued until her final frail days, accepting the resignation of her 14th Prime Minister and welcoming her 15th Prime Minister. Emulating the strong sense of duty she had captured from her father, King George VI.

It is also important to always remember the link between our system of constitutional monarchy, our rights and freedoms, underpinned by our defence that our monarch supported well, and our very living standards. It is no coincidence that among the most free, stable, and wealthy countries in the world are those who shared our Head of State, Queen Elizabeth II.

Vale Her Majesty The Queen, your leadership and example will be missed by not only Great Britain, our country and the entire Commonwealth of nations, but worldwide.

Long live the King.
