Sanjiv Manchanda B.Eng MBA

Chief Executive Officer

Mr Manchanda is an Electrical Engineer with an MBA, has been admitted as a Fellow to the Institution of Engineers, Australia, and Fellow to the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He has more than 30 years of professional experience in mining and related industries; including design, feasibility studies, development, project construction, commissioning, ramp up and operation of large complex multi-billion dollar developments.

Mr Manchanda held the position of Project Director since May 2011 and assumed the role of Chief Operating officer in June 2016 for the Roy Hill project of HPPL group. Reporting to the CEO of Roy Hill and being a part of the Executive Leadership Team, he had a significant influence in leadership a change management as the business grew from 40 people to 1,900 through various stages of studies, engineering, construction, commissioning and ramp up to name plate capacity for the Roy Hill project.
During this period, Mr Manchanda has extensive experience in dealing with Lenders through their technical advisors as well as minority equity partners through investment phase, development and operational phase including providing monthly management updates on business performance key issues and negotiating decisions and outcomes.

He has recently held the position with HPPL as Head of Project Development.
Extensive experience in working organisations in Korea, Japan and China in relationships as Contractors, suppliers, Clients, Shareholders and Lenders. Well known and respected in local WA and Australian Industry, Contractors and Suppliers.Mr Manchanda was awarded Project Director of the Year 2016 by Project Management Institute (PMI) for his role on the Roy Hill Project.

He holds professional memberships with AusIMM, IEAust, AICD and PMI


Chris Els B. Com (Hons), CA

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Els is a finance executive with over twenty-five years’ industry experience spanning mining, manufacturing, agribusiness, business services and fast-moving consumer goods in Australia, South Africa, Brazil and Eritrea. His areas of expertise include amongst others business and financial strategy development, equity, project and debt funding, investor relations, M&A, corporate governance and statutory and covenant compliance.

Prior to joining Atlas Iron, Mr. Els held Chief Financial Officer positions in Danakali Ltd, Mirabela Nickel and Norilsk Nickel (Australia). He also held the position of Company Secretary at Danakali Ltd and Mirabela Nickel Ltd.

Mr. Els is also an associate member of the UK-based Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA) and a member of the Certified Practising Accountants of Australia (CPA).

He has a proven track record of delivering at an operational level, maximising profit and improving business operations through optimising business systems and processes.


Mark Hancock B.Bus, CA, FFin

Chief Commercial Officer

Mr Hancock joined Atlas in 2006 and has filled a variety of senior finance and commercial roles since that time.

Mr Hancock has played a pivotal role in Atlas’ mergers, acquisitions and asset disposals. He is also on the front line of Atlas’ iron ore sales activity, which has enabled the Company to consistently maximise its revenue and profit margins. Mr Hancock is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years’ experience. He commenced his career in public practice and subsequently held senior financial management roles across a variety of industries in Australia and South East Asia with companies including Woodside Petroleum, Premier Oil and Lend Lease.

Mr Hancock is a Director of Centaurus Metals Limited (ASX:CTM).


Bronwyn Kerr LLB (Hons), BA, FCIS, GAICD

General Counsel and Company Secretary

Ms Kerr is a legal and governance professional with over ten years' experience. Prior to joining Atlas, Ms Kerr worked for a leading international law firm where she advised companies in relation to mining and infrastructure projects as well as a broad range of corporate matters.

Ms Kerr is admitted to practice as a lawyer in Western Australia and holds post-graduate qualifications in finance and corporate governance.
